Circa Survived performed at Union Transfer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 25, 2012 in support of their fourth full-length record, Violent Waves, with support from Balance and Composure; this was the second of two sold-out record release party shows.

The following is a quick review and setlist recap.

Balance and Composure, playing as a five-piece joined by Ned Russin on bass, sounded flawless. The band embraced their inner Brand New more than ever — in a good way. It’s too bad the crowd was genuinely disinterested during their lengthy set.

Void
Burden
Quake
Stonehands
Fade
Show Your Face
Galena
I Can’t Do This Alone
Rope

Circa Survive¬†melted a thousand faces across fifteen songs with confetti, balloons, and a near-perfect performance. Anthony Green never sounded better. “Frozen Creek” was apparently chopped from the setlist last minute.

The Lottery (with Geoff Rickly)
Sharp Practice
Holding Someone’s Hair Back
Living Together
Imaginary Enemy
Through The Desert Alone
Bird Sounds
Strange Terrain
